The Coachouse Hotel, originally built in 1856 for the Duke of Bedford, was sympathetically renovated in 1989. Much of it's charm and character has been retained by the preserving of many old timber beams and the granite open fire in the Lounge Bar.

The Coachouse is nclose to Dartmoor National Park, hidden amongst rolling farmland on the edge of the tiny hamlet of Ottery, but only two miles from historic Tavistock, birthplace of Sir Francis Drake.

The Coachouse is conveniently situatedfor day trips to any part of Devon or Cornwall, and within a new World Heritage site which covers the mining history of Cornwall and West Devon.

It is also in the Tamar Valley A.O.N.B.
